- Seasoned vs. green: Seasoned firewood has been dried for 6+ months, which means less smoke, easier lighting, and more heat. Green wood is heavier, harder to burn, and produces more creosote.
- Storage: Keep firewood off the ground and covered on top but open on the sides to keep it dry and let air circulate.
- How much do you need? A full cord (4′ x 4′ x 8′) typically lasts a casual user an entire winter in Texas. Half cords and face cords are also available.
